Cuba is an important destiny for birds observers (birds watchers) taking into consideration its geographical location, subtropical weather, high biodiversity and high scientific level of ornithologists. More than 350 species of birds can be seen in the Cuban archipelago every year. Almost 60 subspecies are exclusive from Cuba and 21 are endemic species. Among the visitors can be found nearctic birds, many of them only make a brief scale in our island to rest and to restore energies to continue the trip to the south. Others receive the category of winter residents due to the fact that they stay in Cuba until the spring.
